Scalable Design and Processor Technology for IoT Applications

Since the Internet of things (IoT) has many variables to contend with, designing a hardware solution for it is difficult. Because the technology is changing quickly, it is very difficult to meet the architectural requirements for these cases. IoT designers are able to measure both hardware and software to satisfy these design targets of processor products (flexible, scalable, and reliable). Many of the processor families are also integrated graphics processing units (GPUs) that provide additional processing resources. This chapter will explore both aspects of the scalable design for the IoT and new techniques of increasing network robustness and consistency.
