On Type D Fuzzy Cellular Automata-Based MapReduce Model in Industry 4.0

Arnab Mitra · 2022

This chapter focuses on the Type D fuzzy representation for two Cellular Automata (CA) rules (i.e., rule 102 and rule 153) in view of its selection towards a MapReduce model in Industry 4.0 scenarios to facilitate load-reduced Big Data processing at low cost. The presented Type D fuzzy representations for said CA rules ensure a cost-effective and easy physical implementation. This chapter also explores its potential towards self-organizing capability, which may further facilitate an advanced design to deal with uncertainty-based scenarios. Additionally, simulation results at higher automata (cell) sizes for said CA-based MapReduce model ensure its true cost-effectiveness in view of memory allocation at its software implementation as the dynamics for said CA rules are found to be independent of the left-hand values at different fixed boundary conditions.
