Resistors in Series and Parallel

Robert Lucas · 2022

This chapter describes an investigation into the resultant resistance of combining resistors in series and in parallel using a selection of resistor values and a breadboard that allows for various configurations to be tested. The resultant current is recorded and used to confirm the expected results. The chapter describes the apparatus needed, how it is assembled, how to configure the breadboard for series and parallel groups of resistors, and how the actual experiment is performed, as well as how the accompanying simulation can be used. The necessary Physics is explained in detail, followed by discussion of the results.
