This paper proposes a topology planning method for emergency communication network based on a multi-group co-evolution algorithm. Two initial populations based on uniform deployment and neighboring deployment are constructed, and population crossover and mutation operations based on variable-length strings are designed. The strategy of multi-group co-evolution is used to update the elite population, which improves the problem of low search efficiency and easy to fall into local optimal solutions when the communication network topology is planned and solved. Simulation analysis shows that compared with the traditional single-population evolutionary algorithm, this method can significantly improve the search efficiency. It can be used to assist communication personnel in drawing up network organization schemes and planning communication network topology, which has good theoretical and application value.
