Virtual Reality(VR) is a new frontier of the digital world by providing users with fully immersive. Many industrials take its capability to create valuable experiences for different purposes: edutainment, tourist, commercial, medical, and academic domains. VR can provide user experiences by various components, especially an initial visual design, immersion, and interactivities. This paper aims to verify the fundamental principles of design for VR from novice designer perspectives. The result showed a statistically significant difference in fundamental principles variables used to create virtual reality. Moreover, VR design principles effect different types of VR and specific domains. For example, the navigation principle suits the design of AR in learning and MR on tourists while affordance proper VR design for tourists. Feedback principle influences MR design in a commercial, and color influences VR design for commercials. The finding can be further used to design a VR system for supporting the local hill-tribe product, organic coffee.
