Q-Band Linearizer for SatCom Applications

The development, design and test of a Q-band linearizer and channel amplifier to be operated with a travelling wave tube amplifier (TWTA) in satellite communication payloads is summarized in this paper. An overview about the equipment design, development activities, performance and current status of the equipment is provided. Some details concerning the RF line-up and unit functionality are presented and relevant topics from the component development and technology selection are outlined. Finally some performance data are given to illustrate the linearizer capabilities.
