A testing dataset of moving target objects is required to verify continuous queries made by vessel operators for real time surveillance monitoring. The trajectories of free-moving objects should be used to test spatial query zones against various trajectory patterns (e.g., approaching, retreating, U-turning, hovering, and detouring). We have designed spatiotemporal continuous query processing rules for filtering, classifying, analyzing, and responding to consecutively collected target objects. We propose to verify continuous query based on rule processing by using a synthesized data set that defines movement patterns and inertia-based trajectories for generating testing datasets of freely moving objects. The experimental results demonstrate it is useful to use the generated test data set to check whether the necessary continuous queries have been made well enough for the monitoring area around the vessel.
