The security of cryptographic algorithms is of great importance to information security. Power attack technology poses a serious threat to the security of cryptographic algorithm operations. In this paper a composite field-based AES algorithm mask protection design is proposed, realizing the inversion operation in the S-box through the decomposition of the composite field. And a random mask is added to each of the S-box operations based on this structure. Each intermediate value is randomized, and a cyclic shift is used to implement the mask transformation of each round of operation, thus improving the ability to resist power attacks. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that, the scheme proposed can be implemented with higher security and lower resource overhead compared with similar design.
