Wireless networks are more advantageous than wired networks owing to higher data transfer rate, portability, versatility and its simple design. The categories of wireless networks are Mobile Ad hoc networks (MANETs) and Wireless Sensor Networks. Communication between the nodes is done through wireless transmission in MANETs and the nodes are dispersed in ad hoc way. Security is a threat for MANETs. This is due to its vast node distribution and open medium. Hence, the improved Enhance Adaptive Acknowledgement (EAACK) is more powerful and secure which is used as an Intrusion detection system in MANETs. The improved EAACK concept uses the bouncing theory to decrease the overhead in networking and to forward the traffic via precise location. Moreover, it uses a hybrid cryptographic scheme to communicate the messages among the nodes in a secure way. The performance calculation which is depicted in the simulation results is done using Routing Overhead (RO) and Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR). The simulation results clearly depict that there is much better improvement than EAACK.
