The coexistence of IMT-2020 and satellite networks plays an important role in bridging the digital divide and for the economic and social development of rural areas and allows for extended coverage of mobile communications. In this context, for such a network defined as hybrid, adaptations and changes in transmission systems and media are essential to benefit from the advantages of coexistence. Many researches have been carried out, and through the literature, the technique of cognitive radio can be considered the most attractive. The objective of this paper is to study the problem of coexistence between the FSS system operating in the C-band and the IMT-2020 system in order to avoid harmful interference and to improve the spectrum efficiency (scarce resource). This work also presents two solutions to improve the network performance; the control of the transmit power of 5G antennas and the implementation of a reference filter at the ground stations. Probabilistic techniques such as Monte Carlo algorithm, root-raised-cosine filter (SRRC) model will be used to evaluate the impact of the 5G network cells on the satellite receivers. The results obtained show that in order to respect the interference threshold of the receivers, the minimum separation distance will have to be respected, and filters with a rejection value of more than 60dB will have to be equipped. The calculations and the simulation were made with the Matlab tool.
