Graphene: The New Kid on the Block

My experience in applying open innovation to pioneer autonomous driving and navigation systems and the advocacy of “fail fast, learn fast” would prove invaluable as I found myself taking up a new role at The University of Manchester working on graphene commercialisation. It was now 2013 and graphene, the world’s first two-dimensional material, was less than 10 years old and still in the very early stages of technology and academic development. However, at this time there was already some fantastic discussion and dialogue around the potential products and applications.
