Since the 2020 epidemic, wearing masks to travel has become a normal part of life. However, detecting faces with masks has been a challenging task due to the mask's obscuring of facial features. Automatic monitoring of mask wear in public places has become an important problem that needs to be addressed urgently in epidemic prevention and control. Currently, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been commonly used in the field of computer vision, and good results have been achieved. To this end, the paper proposes a face mask recognition method based on MTCNN and MobileNet, and experimental validation by training samples confirms the usefulness of the algorithm for recognizing whether a face is wearing a mask or not.
