The traditional live stream technology has a large latency. In order to obtain more effective interaction between the presenter and the audience, this paper designs and implements a low latency live stream platform based on Kurento. The core architecture is based on Kurento, which is also a combination of WebRTC Media Server and a set of APIs. We use Spring Boot as the framework of application server, and WebSocket protocol and JSON format for signaling channel. We choose the Derby database to store the data. The platform breaks through geographical restrictions, and uses UDP protocol to push the stream to reduce the delay of live stream. This not only improves the interaction efficiency between the presenter and the audience, but also solves the shortcomings of the traditional live stream system to a certain extent. In addition, the cross-platform characteristic of WebRTC makes video live stream more flexible and simpler, which can be used as a reference for the rapid development of similar live stream businesses.
