Adaptive Software Development and complexity-related ideas

In this chapter, complexity-related ideas influencing the concept of Adaptive Software Development (ASD) and further development of the Agile methodological framework are included. In the first part of the chapter, sources of inspiration for the formulation of different complexity-related concepts, which lay the groundwork for the formulation of ASD, are presented. These concepts influencing the formulation of ASD reflect different interpretations of complexity. In the following part of chapter, the issues related to complex adaptive systems, the economic environment of projects, and environmental turbulence, and the impact of the presented issues on managerial decisions.
