Single Image And Video Dehazing: A Dark Channel Prior (DCP)-based Approach

One of the major challenges associated with real-time image and video processing is severe deterioration in the signal quality due to the presence of detrimental environmental factors such as fog, haze and smoke. With the recent advancements in computer vision and image processing, several image and video dehazing techniques have been proposed in existing literature. This paper presents a state-of-the-art comparison of popular dehazing schemes along with an extension of the dark channel prior (DCP)-based approach for haze removal in videos. Lastly, all schemes are implemented to present an exhaustive performance comparison in terms of accuracy and other quantitative indices.
