Car Detection and Recognition using Deep Learning Techniques

The paper focuses on the study and practices of Deep Learning techniques. We propose a novel architecture to detect and segregate different classes of cars using the You Only Look Once (YOLO) algorithm. For real-time object detection YOLO algorithm is used as it is quick in performing a single convolutional neural network. This paper also uses object localization techniques to locate and detect multiple cars in realtime systems. For categorization and filtering of cars, the MobileNet architecture was used. Datasets like COCO and Stanford are used to train the algorithms. We aim to detect all the cars in a single frame of the footage and categorize each car according to its feature into either big/heavy or small/light categories.
