MAKE IT USABLE

Graphic designers and developers both have a tremendous impact on the final experience that customers will use every day, so user-centered design training is necessary for those who want it. There are a few reputable sources, for example Interaction Design Foundation, that can provide training opportunities. Prioritization is something that often gets overlooked in the product design/development life cycle. This chapter discusses three main priority groupings: personas based on their value to organization, scenarios based on their value to the persona, and use cases based on their value to the scenario. Creating a product roadmap sounds like it might be simple if we have already defined the highest-priority use cases, but roadmaps are much more complicated than just dropping items on the calendar based on priority. The product roadmap provides essential visibility into the plan for what will get designed and built and when each element falls into the product team's schedule.
