PHP can be used to upload files to a server. However, allowing others to upload material to your web site could expose you to all sorts of problems. After describing the mechanics of file uploads using the $_FILES array, this chapter builds a custom class that allows you to restrict the size and type of uploads, as well as preventing files from being overwritten. The finished class is capable of handling multiple files in a single operation.
