Augmentation of Printed Content with Web-based Technologies

This paper examines approaches to the development of augmented reality applications. It presents the current state of the art of mobile and web-based AR applications, as well as different versions of marker tracking. A case study provides best-practices for web-based AR, with the main focus point on an implementation of natural feature tracking. Finally, advantages and disadvantages of both mobile and web-based AR applications are discussed and suggestions for future directions are made.
