AOptix to research mobile biometrics for US DoD

The US Defense Department (DoD) has awarded a $3m research contract to California-based AOptix to develop mobile biometrics that will allow the soldier out on patrol to record the facial features or iris signature of a suspicious person from his or her smartphone at a distance, according to Wired . AOptix will work with CACI as a subcontractor.
