Introduction to Android Studio

The world was introduced to Android Studio just a few days after its prerelease at Google’s processing system in 2013. Android Studio is a product of a great collaboration between JetBrains and Google. Android Studio was built over JetBrain’s IntelliJ, meaning that its functionality is a superset of IntelliJ. Android Studio is now the official IDE for Android. The Android platform lets developers script managed code applying Java to operate and control the Android device. Android Studio contains great tools such as the Android Virtual Device Manager and the Android Device Monitor. The Android project architecture on disk is different from the typical flattened representation. It is also possible to customize the view of the project files to focus on specific aspects of the app development. Android Studio utilizes Gradle as the foundation of the build system, with more Android-specific capacities provided by the Android plugin for Gradle.
