QCA is an emanating nanotechnology, which will ease and reduce the complexity of CMOS technology. Recently by using the characteristic of this nomenclature, different devices of the digital system can be offered which will consume less power and will have less device density. In this paper, a new QCA based 2 – to – 4 decoder has been proposed, which is designed by only 81 3-dot QCA cells. The comparison of this proposed design has been stated in the paper along with necessary simulations. Here we become acquainted that, our proposed novel architecture improves 61% in the number of cell counts and 99% in terms of the area in comparison to the existing QCA based decoders. In this proposed design, it is possible to avoid any kind of overlapping of cells which leads to a more compact and cost-effective design of a 2 – to – 4 decoder.
