With an aging population and an exponential growth in population, there is an immediate necessity to build effective and real-time health management by focusing on the healthcare Internet of Things (HealthIoT). In medical and computer technology, both research and business have seen an increase in interest in the healthcare system. However, many healthcare facilities refuse to recognize patients’ emergency conditions and are reluctant to provide special users with a customized resource program. A greater amount of information is gathered to the cloud for processing cloud computing based on software-defined networking (SDN), resulting in a larger volume of redundant data and significantly longer response time due to the capacity-limited Internet. In this chapter, we focus on the benefits and challenges of how SDN-IoT, edge, load balancing, and cloud computing can help healthcare organizations to enhance the reliability and accessibility of services and on various benefits and challenges faced so that Wi-Fi networks are widely used in the healthcare industry.
