In wireless communication, technological advancements have led to the creation of multi-functional, compact, low-cost, low-power, and Wireless Sensor nodes (WSNs). Scalability, Energy consumption, Transmission range, and the environment are all variables that are taken into account while designing nodes. These nodes perform tasks like sensing, processing, data transfer, and communication. For packet delivery to be accurate, the routing system is critical. This study provides an overview of several energy-efficient routing protocols that also include security measures in order to improve node security in WSNs and to develop techniques that consume less energy during communication
