Railcars in the USA are ageing rapidly: the average carriage is 23 years old and has an expected lifetime of 25 years. So when a major user of rail transport requested better carriages to replace its ageing fleet a composite partner was sought. Andy Perrella from Hardcore-DuPont explains how the composite solution came about.
