The Transient Regime of a DC Relay Supplied a Charged Condenser

This paper analyzes the transient charging regime of a capacitor whose capacity is much higher than that of the capacitor with which it is connected in series and whose capacity is much lower than that of the charging capacitor. It establishes the evolution in time of the capacitor voltage taking into account the power losses in its dielectric. The power losses in the capacitor dielectric occur in the diagram analyzed by an electrical resistor. Also, because the capacitor is charged by connecting to a DC voltage source obtained by rectification, in the equivalent electrical circuit the direct resistance of the rectifier diodes is not neglected.
