For a search of a missing person in mountainous areas, a lot of time and human resources are required. We propose an Internet of Things (IoT) framework utilizing acoustic sensors to help to detect the missing person. The proposed IoT framework consists of five parts: smart acoustic sensors, drones/cartridges control system for dropping the sensors, the main control server, an analysis server for getting the acoustic information, and a web server to support the user interface. This framework enables rapid response to situations and golden time acquisition and provides continuous on-site detection services. We implement the proposed framework and demonstrate actual operation.
