Model driven engineering (MDE) raises the level of abstraction at which software is developed and evolved. An aspect-oriented approach to MDE is required when the application to be developed includes crosscutting fea-tures. Crosscutting features are features that are tan-gled with other system features. Aspect-oriented model driven engineering (AOMDE) approaches have been clas-sied into a Weave-Then-Generate approach, where code is generated from an integrated design model, and a Generate-Then-Weave approach where code is gener-ated separately from primary model and aspect models. This paper explores the Generate-Then-Weaveapproach and demonstrates that the approach is a family of approaches dif-ferentiated by the order in which code generation and model customization tasks are interleaved.
