AN AD HOC QUERY GENERATOR FOR A REAL ESTATE BUSINESS DATABASE

This thesis report describes the design and implementation process for a graphical tool generating SQL-queries to extract data from a real estate business database. The software is intended to be used by customers of Vitec Fastighetssystem, a real estate software company. The report further explains the trade-off problem of complexity versus expressiveness and compares the design ideas with previous solutions to similar tasks. It also includes feedback and prototype evaluations by actual users. Concluding the thesis report is a presentation of a software solution and conclusions drawn from the project. iiContents
