Integrating an interactive graphics system
David Luther, Walter M. Anderson · Mini-micro Systems · 1982
The system integrator designing an interactive computer graphics system can now choose from a larger selection of hardware and software components than ever before. Selecting the best components, however, does not necessarily yield a competitive graphics system. Components must work well together in parallel, under conditions matched to their application. This can be particularly important in the design of multiprocessor, distributed graphics systems. The advantages of such an approach are explained. The Lexidata 8100/gs, which is a multiprocessor, distributed graphics system, is briefly described.
