A shallow syntactic annotation scheme for Icelandic text

We describe a shallow syntactic annotation scheme for Icelandic text. The scheme comprises of set of grammatical descriptors and their application guidelines. The descriptors consist of brackets and labels which indicate constituent structure and functional relations. Additionally, we describe a grammar definition corpus, annotated using the annotation scheme. The annotation scheme has been developed as a part of a shallow parsing project.
