Binary Steering of Nonbinary Iterative Algorithms

Yair Censor, Samuel Matej · Applied and numerical harmonic analysis · 1999

Existing algorithms for binary image reconstruction that can handle two-dimensional problems are mainly of a combinatorial nature. This has,so far, hindered their direct application to fully three-dimensional binary problems. This chapter proposes a steering scheme by which non-binary iterative reconstruction algorithms can be steered towards a binary solution of a binary problem. Experimental studies show the viability of this approach. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
