An Investigation of Format for Reading Material for the Educable Mentally Retarded.
Cary L. Reichard, William R Reid · 1970
for the past two years, the authors have been concerned with the identification of the properties of instructional reading materials used by teachers of the educable mentally retarded that may have implications for future development of materials. They have directed their interests toward the identification of concrete elements of such instructional materials in order to minimize subjective evaluation. For example, they have analyzed the relationship between variable spacing and marginal verification1 and the reading rate and comprehension of retardates.
