The Graphics Calculator: A Tool for Critical Thinking

Several years after the introduction of graphics calculators, no consensus has been reached on how these calculators should be used in secondary school and undergraduate mathematics. In this article I explore some issues that arise in integrating calculators into the traditional precalculus and calculus curricula, including a discussion of perils and pitfalls awaiting the unsuspecting, unthinking user, presented as a Stress Test for Calculators at the end of this article.
