Development of Automatic Fare Collection system for Dubai Palm Jumeirah Monorail

This report summarizes the development of AFC system installed in Dubai Monorail in UAE which started commercial operation in April, 2009. This system uses contact-less IC card as a medium of tickets. The chip to authenticate the authorized card, highly tamper-resistant SAM (Secure Access Module), is used to provide high security at the same time.
