In order to scientifically assess index-weighted values,an analytic hierarchy process(AHP) was introduced into fuzzy weighted values to avoid uncertainties while determining index weights.A multi-storey fuzzy model assessing groundwater resources was set up to assess groundwater quality and quantity in typical areas of the Haihe basin-Shijiazhuang,Hengshui,Cangzhou and Tianjin.Regions to be evaluated were treated as an evaluation set for water quantity, while a five-grade standard single index was applied for water quality. The results showed that Shijiazhuang was No.1,which indicated that the groundwater quality was excellent and abundant, and could be used for various applications.Tianjin was No.2,where both the water quality and quantity were medium, and the water could be used for drinking and irrigation.Cangzhou and Hengshui were the last;both water quality and quantity were in a worse condition, but the water could still be used for irrigation and industrial water.
