A Taxonomy of 5G Stakeholders
Donna M. Schaeffer, Sheryl Drake, Patrick C. Olson · 2021
The adoption of 5G promises to create global economic growth through enabling new technologies which require high bandwidth, low latency, and resiliency. As 5G is an emerging technology, implementation, development, and governance policies are currently evolving which drive decision making for design, deployment, and management of these systems. Leading 5G stakeholders and key policy areas were identified and classified taxonomically. A taxonomic classification of stakeholder 5G policy areas was developed which initially identified four core areas including spectrum, cybersecurity, innovation and emerging technologies, and governance and public policy. The identification key policy areas from 5G stakeholder groups provides a common vocabulary and baseline as future policies emerge.
