Neural computing in the spectral domain

O. K. Ersoy, P.-T. Yu, U. Purdue · Annual Meeting Optical Society of America · 1987

Neural computing has the promise of solving random problems much more effectively than previous approaches. However, the very large number of interconnections necessary are difficult to achieve cost-effectively, even with optical computers. Formation of the neural network in the spectral domain drastically reduces the inherent problems due to data compression.
