Nowadays, the rapid rise of the application of blockchain technology provides an opportunity to solve the weaknesses in the field of MOOCs, such as the authenticity of learning achievement certification, the problem of low efficiency of credit conversion, and the digital copyright protection of online courses. In this paper, we propose a blockchain system for MOOCs and credit banks. The system includes an entirely new heterogeneous multi-chain blockchain network structure based on the Polkadot framework, as well as three specific smart contract solutions to achieve MOOCs learning achievement evaluation and credit exchange, copyright registration of course resources and digital certificate verification, and intelligent transaction of paid courses. The proposed system has been demonstrated as a promising candidate solution for establishing a fairer, healthier, and more efficient online education platform and credit bank system.
