Synthesis of Cloud Technologies and Telco NFV Transformation – A Perspective
Abhishek Kumar, Hans Raj Nahata · 2021
Cloud technologies are rapidly evolving, driven primarily by IT applications, and technology advancements in hardware and software stacks. At the same time telco networks are changing at a fast pace. The fulcrum of these changes is a new set of communication-centric use cases, advances in open source and standards, and technology drivers for better transport and compute power. These two evolutions - Cloud Technologies, and Telco Network - need to influence each other, and that is the theme of this paper. In particular, cloud technologies should meet the unique needs of the telco networks, and telco networks should leverage the advances in cloud technologies in shaping its overall direction of enhancements.
