Configure Windows Server for Always On VPN

Richard M. Hicks · Apress eBooks · 2021

A VPN server must be deployed to accept VPN connections from Always On VPN clients. In this book, Windows Server 2022 with Routing and Remote Access Service (RRAS) will be used. Of course, users must be authenticated when they connect to the VPN server. To support this, Windows Server 2022 Network Policy Server (NPS) will be configured. Certificates must be provisioned on both NPS and VPN servers. In addition, the DirectAccess-VPN and NPAS roles must be installed and configured on VPN servers and NPS servers, respectively. Finally, some of the default settings and parameters are suboptimal. Once the infrastructure is configured initially, some fine-tuning of the settings will be required prior to deployment.
