SUMMARY & CONCLUSIONSThis paper presents how engineering technical reviews can be used to improve product reliability during new product introduction (NPI). Engineers need to foresee potential failure modes and recommend actions to eliminate or mitigate them, including what tests need to be carried out, as well as actions to revise product and production processes specifications. The early identification of potential failure modes and appropriate actions to address them improved the product launching success rate and reduced failure costs associated with customer issues in the field due to engineering changes.
