How Can Small Teams Implement a “Counter Attack”?

Qiao Liang · 2021

This chapter argues that how can a small team walk out of the shadow of “death march” to achieve “zero-defect delivery” through continuous improvement (CI). Company N&s;s agile transformation had lasted for three years. All teams had built the Scrum framework, but it seemed like a copycat instead of a veritable Scrum framework. The selected project was to adapt mobile operating system for a new mobile device, which required the participation of three large R&D teams. The project had a total of more than 200 people, and the entire development cycle was expected to be ten months. The transformation path of large teams is utterly different from that of small teams. It is more effective for a large team to start transformation with the overall optimization. The guiding ideology of “goal-driven, starting from simple issue, and continuous improvement” remains unchanged. The specific estimation method can be found in Appendix B.
