Shadab Alam Siddiqui, Tamanna Siddiqui · 2021

Container applications development is rapidly being adopted by application developers across domains. This is because of the efficiency and ease of maintenance that comes along with containerized applications. Although exponential acceptance of containerized solution has also brought in the complexity of the overall eco system that plays a bigger part in keeping container-based application production worthy. The learning curve from traditional application development to container-based application is commendable but it also brings the nuances of accepting non-functional characteristics that surrounds the containerized applications. Developers and testers are at receiving end wherein no global standards exist to test the Non-functional part of their application. This writeup tries to delve into the minds of such experts from industry who are at the helm of application development. The data collected as part of this extensive exercise is further analysed to present the broad view of industry and their inclination of the importance of a generic framework to test Non-functional aspect of containerized applications.
