My goal for this book was to demystify what happens in computer programming. I think many people—even professional computer programmers—sometimes forget what is really happening under the hood. If you know assembly language, however, you can see how what you are doing in a high-level language is getting mapped onto the core constructs of assembly language. When a programming language implements a new feature, you can better understand both the feature itself and its possible limitations, because you can better imagine how it was implemented.
