This paper presents a comparison between matrix-based and division algorithms. The research was conducted considering the similarities between the two algorithms. The division algorithm produces switching element states whether cross or straight according to the given permutation. Then the packet traverses the switching without blocking. Meanwhile, in the matrix-based algorithm, routing tags are generated to route packets. However, routing is obtained after determining the non-blocking path, the process is almost the same as that applied to the division algorithm. After that the packet can traverse the network according to the routing tag that is inserted in the packet header without blocking.
