Abstract Results of simulation of the parameters of barrier discharge along with a power source, including nonideal conditions (nonuniformity of the discharge gap), in systems with a solid dielectric are presented. The effect of the parameters of the high-voltage power-supply circuit on the efficiency of operations of an ozone generator (OG) based on the dielectric barrier discharge is studied. It is shown that the OG parameters may have a reciprocal effect on the efficiency and operation regimes of the high-voltage power-supply source. Processes in the power source and barrier discharge are simulated for both uniform and nonuniform gaps. A comparison of the simulation results with the operation parameters of actual OGs, which use dielectric barrier discharge, has shown that the model developed is correct. The effect of the nonuniformity of the geometric parameters of the discharge cell on the current and voltage of the barrier discharge is analyzed. The difference between the actual resonance frequency of the ozone generator and the calculated one, which is observed in practice, is explained.
