To achieve high-precision time synchronization among multiple systems, a synchronization method based on Global Position System(GPS) 1 pulse per second(1 PPS) is proposed. The 1 PPS signal of GPS is used as the synchronization reference signal to complete the synchronization between multiple systems. Firstly, working commands are sent to all systems through the wireless module in the rising edge of 1 PPS. Then in the next rising edge of 1 PPS, all systems convention synchronization starts working, eventually achieving high-precision synchronization of multiple systems. In the key synchronization implementation, the method completely relies on logical circuit, and without processor participation, which greatly improves the synchronization accuracy of the system. Meanwhile, sending a working command on the rising edge of 1 PPS eliminates the cross-second error caused by the communication delay of wireless module, and the communication delay of wireless module can be completely ignored. The experiment restults show that the synchronization error standard deviation of this method is 51.94ns, which has extremely high synchronization performance and can be widely used in military and industrial fields.
