Uninhibited and Inhibited Oxidation: A Distinction between Strong and Moderate Inhibitors
Lev Zlatkevich · SSRN Electronic Journal · 2003
The kinetic approach is shown to provide important advantages over other procedures in evaluation of oxidation. In contrast to such methodologies as graphic methods, the heterogeneous model and the reduced coordinates approximation, the kinetic approach makes a definite distinction between uninhibited and inhibited oxidation and relates resistance to oxidation to the inhibitor concentration. Furthermore, the kinetic approach allows to differentiate between inhibitors with strong and moderate reactivity. The former prolong the induction period of oxidation leaving oxidation rate unchanged, while the latter are expected to diminish the rate of oxidation without changing its induction period.
