In this paper we propose a range-domain processing method that improves weak-signal tracking for LDACS. The objective is to improve existing LDACS receiver algorithms towards a more robust computation of navigation observables at no loss in accuracy. Evaluating real flight data from the results of the ALPS project further supports previous claims that LDACS-based navigation will enable RNP 0.3 based on terrestrial ranging. In addition to the improved processing we propose a way of discriminating nominal and faulted measurements. With this screening method we produce the first-ever LDACS-based ranging data set made up of fault-free measurements. Finally, we compute an overbounding Gaussian error model, with a sigma ?? < 30 m, based on 102 million data samples.
